This Cookie & Tracking Policy explains how RouteMate SA (Pty) Ltd uses cookies, local browser storage and similar technologies when you visit our website or use the RouteMate SA platform.

Cookies are small text files placed on your device. Local storage is a similar browser feature that lets us keep small amounts of data on your device without sending it to our servers on every request.

Interface preference cookie: we store a single cookie called sidebar_state so the side menu can remember whether it was open or closed. This cookie lasts for seven days and does not contain personal information.

Authentication session: your sign-in session is stored in the browser's localStorage by our authentication provider. It is used only to keep you signed in and is not shared with advertisers.

Payment processing: when you pay for a seat or a subscription, PayFast and/or Ozow may place their own cookies or session identifiers so they can process your payment securely and prevent fraud. RouteMate SA does not control these cookies.

Mapping: Google Maps may place cookies or use device identifiers when maps and address autocomplete load. These are governed by Google's own cookie policy.

RouteMate SA does not use advertising or behavioural-tracking cookies. We do not build advertising profiles, retarget you across other websites, or sell tracking data to third parties.

To keep the website interface usable and remember your menu preference.

To maintain a secure sign-in session.

To let payment processors complete card and EFT transactions safely.

To show maps, calculate distances and suggest addresses when you create or search routes.

Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies through their settings. If you block all cookies, the RouteMate SA interface and sign-in session may not work correctly.

You can also clear localStorage from your browser settings. Doing so will sign you out.
