RouteMate SA (Pty) Ltd operates a technology platform that connects private drivers who have spare seats with riders travelling similar commuting routes. We do not own, operate or control the vehicles listed on the platform, nor do we employ drivers or act as a transport operator.

Every trip is arranged directly between the driver and the rider. RouteMate SA's role is limited to matching, booking, payment collection and supporting the lift-club community.

RouteMate SA makes no warranty or representation that any route, driver, vehicle or booking will meet a particular standard, arrive at a specific time, or be uninterrupted.

We use verification, ratings and route-matching tools to improve trust and convenience, but these tools do not guarantee safety, roadworthiness, insurance coverage or driver competence. Riders and drivers must satisfy themselves before entering a vehicle or accepting a passenger.

Drivers are independent private individuals using their own vehicles. They are not agents, contractors or employees of RouteMate SA.

Riders are independent users of the platform. RouteMate SA does not supervise the conduct of drivers or riders during a trip.

RouteMate SA uses regulated third-party payment providers such as PayFast and Ozow to collect fares and subscriptions. We do not store card numbers, CVV codes or banking passwords.

RouteMate SA is not responsible for delays, failures, reversals or errors caused by a payment provider, a user's bank, or incorrect payment details supplied by a user.

RouteMate SA does not provide passenger or vehicle insurance. It is the driver's responsibility to ensure that the vehicle is licensed, roadworthy and adequately insured for lift-club or passenger use.

Riders use the platform and travel in private vehicles at their own risk. RouteMate SA is not liable for personal injury, death, property damage, loss of income or any other loss arising from a trip, except to the extent required by South African law and limited to the amount paid by the user to RouteMate SA in the 12 months before the incident.

RouteMate SA does not guarantee that a published route will run on any given day. Drivers may pause, cancel or amend routes, and riders may cancel bookings, subject to the Refund & Cancellation Policy.

Estimated travel times and distances shown on the platform are indicative only and may be affected by traffic, weather, road conditions or other events outside RouteMate SA's control.

The platform may contain links to third-party websites, maps or services. RouteMate SA is not responsible for the content, accuracy, privacy practices or availability of those third-party resources.

RouteMate SA may update this disclaimer from time to time. Continued use of the platform after an update means you accept the revised disclaimer.
